A leading provider of geothermal systems and energy efficient products, Energy Smart Canada acquired a 24000+ square-foot warehouse as a head office and retail front. The location, being immediately adjacent to Highway 3, had the potential for an enhanced street front facade. This was maximized with a major renovation to the north wall, creating a new entrance and storefront, inviting new walk-in customers with a striking design.
The massive 20-foot-high ceiling in the showroom was opened up to the highway with a large curtain wall, framed by new pillar massing and signage. The interior underwent substantial new construction, integrating a new modern staircase to the newly constructed offices, board room and staff rooms.
The scale of the renovation allowed ample room for a backyard landscaping environment complete with paving stones and hot tub gazebos. The enormous sales floor provides room for a variety of product, displaying solar panels and energy saving products. Loading docks at the rear of the building provide for loading and unloading of materials for installs.
The project is a success on many fronts, maximizing the existing building to create a viable center for business operations and sales. This creative contribution improved the look of an older building, resulting in an attractive and economical solution for the owners. Entering another era of productivity, the property continues to serve multiple businesses.
