Lethbridge College Alumni & ARFAi Scholarship Recipient Update

Alvin Fritz Architect has been partnering with Lethbridge College for years to provide scholarships to students enrolled in programs that fall under the School of Spatial Design Technologies, including Interior Design Technology and Architectural Animation Technology. These scholarships are awarded based on creative and technical excellence displayed by students in a competition which is judged by Al Fritz, a selection of ARFAi staff, instructors from the college, and sometimes even the actual ARFAi client whose project has been shared.
While the specific project parameters vary between competitions, they are all based on a real-world ARFAi design which is given to the students to work with, dress up, and alter to make it shine. This not only provides students valuable real-world experience in which they have to navigate the challenges of working with an existing design as well as a "client" (ARFAi), but it also gives them an opportunity to apply all of the technical skills they've cultivated in school to create portfolio-worthy work that can then be shown to prospective future employers.
In 2022, Ken Lastuka was the winner of one such competition and gives credit to Alvin Fritz Architect Inc. for helping him along his career path (see article below). In response to this heartening news, Al Fritz had this to say,
